And now, a new major update is underway as we write this which promises to brings lots of new features and performance enhancement to Cydia store.
Apple has just released iTunes 10.0.1 for both Windows and Mac. This version brings a new sidebar for Ping in iTunes which makes it easier to share your favorite music with friends and family, along with tons of other bug fixes. Full change log is as follows.
Napster - the predecessor to P2P file sharing programs like Limewire - is now available for iOS devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch). This is not the Napster of the ‘olden days (circa 2000) when you could look up a song and download it straight to your 10GB hard drive. The file sharing service went bankrupt in 2002, bought by Best Buy in ‘08 and went legal last year.
“iPA God” is a new application which can be used to download paid apps from the App Store for free, directly onto your iOS device! According to the developer, you won’t have to jailbreak your iOS device to use iPA God. It works on an exploit found in iOS 4.1 / iOS 4.2 which allows you to create particular files on the filesystem. The developer took the opportunity and made an application out of it to make the entire process easier.
The first Beta version of iOS 4.2 for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch is now available to developers. It brings tons of new features, including: the much awaited multitasking, Game Center, Folders and Universal Mailbox features to the iPad. Apple Insider has received information from a “person with proven knowledge of Apple’s future product plans” that Apple will soon be introducing FaceTime/video-chat capable iPads.
A new useful add-on which goes by the name of “Home Page in Safari” has been released on Cydia which allows jailbroken iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users to set their favorite website as home page in Mobile Safari browser.
