In light of the recent relaxed App Store restrictions, Apple has started allowing previously unallowed apps into their App Store. The biggest beneficiaries of the relaxed restrictions were Google Voice apps which weren't allowed before (since they duplicated features that iPhone comes with). We posted about two such apps: GV Connect and GV Mobile+. Both cost a very reasonable $2.99. But today, we have received information that GV Mobile+ is available for free just for today!
An Apple netbook? Say it isn’t so! While netbooks tend to fall in the 8-10” screen-size category, it would be a little foolish not to consider 11-inchers as netbooks. I, personally, believe that any laptop of screen size < 13” and not having a CD-ROM is to be considered as a netbook.
Apple has just released iTunes 10.0.1 for both Windows and Mac. This version brings a new sidebar for Ping in iTunes which makes it easier to share your favorite music with friends and family, along with tons of other bug fixes. Full change log is as follows.
Sn0wbreeze 2.0.2 is now available for download. This minor release fixes various bugs which has been plaguing some iPhone users when restoring to iOS 4.1 custom firmware file.
Ever thought of how you would propose to your girl? I, personally, haven’t gotten far beyond the let’s-IM-on-MSN-and-I’ll-propose-her-there idea: it’s dead simple, free and for us geeks (most of us, anyway) with little to no social skills: exceedingly effective.
Forbes recently updated their 400 Richest Americans list and well, let’s just say that a certain 26 year old iPhone-hating Facebook CEO is now worth more than you can ever be.
Sn0wbreeze has just been updated to version 2.0.1 to fix iTunes Error 37 which has been problematic for some iPhone 3G users when restoring to the custom firmware file. According to Deon Yeang on Redmond Pie’s facebook page, the error occurs when you are in midway of restoring to the custom cooked firmware using iTunes.
Sn0wbreeze 2.0 was released earlier today. It brings support for a bunch of devices running on iOS 4.1. Like PwnageTool for Mac, you can use Sn0wbreeze 2.0 on Windows to build custom firmware files without upgrading the baseband.
While we are all waiting for jailbreak tools for iOS 4.1 (based on SHAtter exploit) to release officially, a fake tool is floating around the interwebs under the name of GreenPois0n which is claiming to jailbreak all iOS devices from 4.0.2 and above. The fake tool is actually a very dangerous malware which upon running which steal passwords (though it is not clear if it steals passwords from your iOS device or PC). I repeat: it is not the real GreenPois0n tool which is expected to jailbreak iOS 4.1 on iPhone 4, iPod touch and iPad.
Brandon Miniman of Pocket Now has posted a very interesting video in which he compares the operating / homescreening system of Windows Phone 7 against iPhone 4 running iOS 4.x. Both have certain similarities along with places where WP7 and iOS completely take separate paths.
