iOS 9.3 Beta 5

The fifth pre-release seed of iOS 9.3 is now officially available to registered developers, as well as those who are registered as public beta testers to stress test Apple’s firmware. The release comes about a week after the fourth seed of iOS 9.3, and continues on the testing road map of iOS since the initial release in early January. Apple has taken the opportunity to stay true to its word by bringing back full Apple Pencil support in this latest version, which means functionality such as scrolling, and swiping between apps is once again functional.

As expected, the rest of the release focuses predominantly on stability and under-the-hood improvements that exist to try and get iOS 9.3 ready for a final public release.

OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan Beta 5

If the progression of iOS isn’t your thing, then how about the future of Apple’s OS X El Capitan? As part of that future, Apple has officially seeded OS X 10.11.4 beta 5 to developers and registered public testers in order to stress test the platform and report any bugs or issues found. Build number 15E56a looks to focus primarily on stability improvements and under-the-hood tweaks to improve the overall experience of OS X 10.11.4 on Apple’s desktops and notebook machines.

watchOS 2.2 Beta 5

The Apple Watch, as well as the underlying watchOS firmware, is of particular interest to a lot of individuals at the moment. To that end, Apple has officially released watchOS 2.2 beta 5 to those registered developers out there who are keen to not only test out their own apps and software on the platform, but to also put the firmware through its paces in terms of reliability and performance.

This latest beta version of watchOS 2.2 doesn’t include any immediately noticeable user-facing improvements or feature additions compared to last beta release. Like the recently released version of OS X and iOS, watchOS 2.2 beta 5 focuses predominately on improving and stabilizing the features that we’ve already seen.

tvOS 9.2 Beta 5

Fifth pre-release beta version of tvOS 9.2 is also available now for the fourth-generation Apple TV. Developers will be a little upset to learn that the fifth beta of tvOS 9.2 doesn’t bring any huge outward-facing changes for them to get their teeth into. Instead, it focuses once again on honing the tvOS experience on the Apple TV and stabilizing the improvements that have already been made with the four previous pre-release seeds on tvOS 9.2.

All these updates can either be grabbed directly on the device using OTA update mechanism, or from the Apple Developer portal.
