After releasing an update to iTunes (version 9.0.3) yesterday, Apple today has announced the new iPhone 3.1.3 Firmware for iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS and iPod touch. One thing which is to be noted here is that this isn't the same version which runs on the newly release Apple iPad (OS 3.2). If you currently rely on your unlock for iPhone 3G and 3GS, we highly recommend you not to upgrade to this new iPhone OS 3.1.3 unless and until new tools are made available from the likes of George Hotz and the infamous iPhone DevTeam. Upgrading to iPhone OS 3.1.3 now may result in your device getting potentially locked forever.

Apple today has released the new iPhone 3.1.3 firmware for iPhone and iPod touch. This release is just a minor upgrade over the last firmware and it mostly brings stability and bug fixes for iPhone 3GS, 3G, 2G and iPod touch. Interestingly, this (version 3.1.3) isn't the same version which runs on the newly released Apple iPad (OS 3.2).
In the midst of all the iPad hype, what everyone seems to have missed was a leaked image of the next generation iPhone by Apple in one of the leaked images of iPad, which Engadget had posted just a few hours before the official announcement. As you can see from the image below, the form factor mostly remains the same as iPhone 3G/3GS except for the few finer improvements here and there. But what we can expect from Apple is some drastic changes underneath the shell with a faster processor, a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, camera on the front for video conferencing, support for WiFi-N standard and so on.
Some second hand sources have informed TechCrunch that Apple is already working on a OS X based tablet which is scheduled to hit the stores later this year. This tablet in question will be powered by Intel processor, unlike iPad which runs on Apple’s A4 processor.
Apple has just announced the availability of iTunes 9.0.3 for both Windows and Mac. This looks more like a stability and bug fix release which addresses issues like “problems when syncing some Smart Playlists and Podcasts with iPod” and various other bug fixes.
Folks over at Slide-to-Play have published 7 different videos, showing hands-on experience with existing iPhone games running on the newly announced iPad. Sources close to ModMyI have confirmed that the newly announced iPad will be soon available for Pre-Order.
