ToolJail has been just updated to version 2.2. This new version brings updates to jailbreak and unlock guides, and links for jailbreak tools for the newly released iOS 4. For those of you who don’t know, ToolJail (like f0recast) is designed to help iPhone newbie’s to jailbreak and unlock their iPhone and iPod touch. It contains all the necessary jailbreak and unlock instructions, along with how-to’s on DFU and Recovery Mode, downgrading firmware, and direct download links for all the necessary tools required.

iWork suite will probably come to iPhones (maybe an iPhone 4 only exclusive like iMovie?) officially sometime this year. But apparently, an iPhone dev/hacker has already managed to get iPad version of Pages up and running on the higher resolution screen of iPhone 4. According to him, he has managed to do this by hacking the info.plist file in iOS 4 and then resigning it.
According to AppleInsider, Apple is working on a new software update for iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, 3G and iPod touch to fix the dreading signal loss bug which has been plaguing users since the iPhone 4 launch, earlier this week. Apparently, there was some discussion going on about iOS 4.0.1 update in Apple Technical Support Forums which was later removed for unknown reasons.
Let me clear this up straight. No, the phone you see in the screenshot is not a jailbroken iPhone 4, but rather a jailbroken iPhone 3GS, running iOS 4. The iMovie app you see is basically a “broken” port which was being tried to run on non-iPhone 4 devices but had issues in the end.
I must have been asked this question a zillion times by now via email, twitter and on facebook on “how to check whether or not I have the new bootrom on my iPhone 3GS?”. Since it is very difficult, if not impossible for me to reply to each and everyone individually, I thought posting about it for everyone is the only option.
With Sn0wbreeze 1.6.1 for Windows, you can now create custom firmware files of iOS 4 which are already jailbroken just like what PwnageTool 4.0 / 4.01 can do on a Mac. Currently, only iPod touch 2G (non-MC model, and already jailbroken on anything other than Spirit) can be jailbroken on the newly released iOS 4. Both the iPod touch 2G (MC model) and iPod touch 3G requires a new exploit which is currently not available. So if you haven't already jailbroken your iPod touch 2G with Redsn0w, you can do so with sn0wbreeze 1.6.1 for 4.0.
You must have heard about the buzz going on about the yellow tint / spot on the Retina display of iPhone 4 screen. This could be present anywhere from top left corner of the screen, middle, to lower corners of the screen. This of course is not good, specially because the new Retina display has been hyped like crazy, both by Apple and Press.
There has been lots of talk on the reception issue of the newly released iPhone 4. Early iPhone 4 customers are not too happy with their purchase as the device is said to be dropping signals when you hold it in your hand. While there is still no official word or acknowledgement from Apple on the issue yet, it was earlier being suggested that this was an hardware issue and Apple might have to recall all these devices for a replacement.
Sn0wbreeze 1.6 has been released. This is by the same developer who is behind other popular iPhone jailbreak tools such as sn0wbreeze for iPhone 3.1.3, f0recast and BlackBreeze. Just like the PwnageTool for Mac, Sn0wbreeze 1.6 can jailbreak iPhone 3GS (old bootrom, and already pwned on 3.1.2 with anything other than Spirit), iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2G (non MC model).
The official ultrasn0w unlock is now available for iOS 4 which works on all basebands including 05.13.04 and 05.12.01 on iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G. Since there is no jailbreak available yet for iPhone 3GS with new bootrom, you cant unlock it as even though the baseband is unlockable. This is because unlock relies on jailbreak. So if you have an iPhone 3GS with new bootrom and you rely on an unlock, it is best to avoid iOS 4 (formerly iPhone OS 4) for now.
