As expected, Microsoft today at its Worldwide Partner Conference 2010 has announced the public availability of Windows 7 SP1 Beta, and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 Beta for users running the final RTM version of the respective operating systems.

In an unexpected update to his last blog post titled “Meh”, Geohot has announced that he, for the time being at least has kind of abandoned the whole iPhone jailbreak and unlock scene. The reasons according to him are as follows.
Previously, we showed you how to install Mac OS X Snow Leopard using VMware in Windows 7. Since VMware license costs a lot, the good news is that you can now install OS X in Windows using one of the most popular free virtualization software called VirtualBox. You’ll need to have a system with an Intel or AMD processor which supports hardware virtualization, OSX86 iso, VirtualBox and Windows 7, Vista or XP installed as host operating system. If you meet all these requirements, you can then install OS X Snow Leopard as a VM under Windows to enjoy the best of both worlds.
After months of silence, Geohot has finally published a new blog post in which he talks about iPhone 4 jailbreak situation, limera1n, and Pwned4life exploit which he recently talked about at the Nuit Du Hack conference in Paris. According to his latest blog post, he has managed to jailbreak his iPhone 4 the day it got delivered to him by mail. This is what he writes on his blog:
According to a recent tweet by a twitter user @MaxdMerc, a guy working at the Apple Store, Lakeside (UK) has reportedly confirmed that the next firmware update might be delayed slightly due to Apple working on a fix to patch the hole, recently used to jailbreak iOS 4. This however shouldn’t be surprising as almost all firmware updates in past have been used to block the exploits used to jailbreak the previous firmware versions.
Last week, we informed you about Flash port for iPad which was in works by comex – the developer behind Spirit jailbreak tool for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and the upcoming jailbreak for iPhone 4. Well guess what, an early alpha version of Flash (which is dubbed as “Frash”) has been leaked and is now available for download. But there is a little catch to it. Sn0wbreeze 1.7 for 4.0 (for Windows) has been released. This release supports iPhone 3GS (old and new bootrom), iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 2G (MC and non-MC models), and iPod touch 3G. Though iPhone 3GS (new bootrom), iPod touch 2G (MC models) and iPod touch 3G will have to be either on 3.1.2 firmware, or will need to have their SHSH blobs saved for iOS 3.1.2 in order to successfully jailbreak these devices on iOS 4. Also the jailbreak for iPhone 3GS (new bootrom), iPod touch 2G (MC models) and iPod touch 3G on iOS 4 will be tethered, which means whenever you turn off your phone, you will need to re-connect it to a computer to be able to turn it back on.
According to a latest tweet by a member of iPhone Dev Team, it looks like an all device jailbreak like Spirit and Blackra1n is ready, incl. for devices like iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS (new bootrom), iPod touch 2G (MC models) and iPod touch 3G. This is going to be yet another userland jailbreak which we talked about earlier and is coming from none other than comex – the developer behind Spirit jailbreak tool for iPhone 3GS / 3G, iPad and iPod touch.
