Tim Cook: Apple Has No Plans To Release A MacBook/iPad Hybrid Type Device

Paul Morris·November 16, 2015
It seems that all of Apple's executives are singing from the same hymn book when it comes to the existence of laptop/tablet hybrid hardware. Apple's Phil Schiller has already commented on the existence of Microsoft's Surface Book by saying that he doesn't believe that there will ever be an expanding market for this type of hardware. Echoing the thoughts of Schiller, Apple Chief Executive Officer, Tim Cook has also described the Surface Book as being a "diluted" product that doesn't seem to understand what it wants to be. Now, Apple's CEO has gone a little further and given an insight into whether or not Apple would be interested in exploring such a product.

Smartphone manufacturers are consistently working behind the scenes to introduce hardware into that market that ships with new and innovative, but ultimately mass appealing feature sets. We've recently seen Apple introduce the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus with pressure sensitive detection built into the display. The last twelve months have also witnessed a boom in devices that ship with biometric detection and fast-charging capabilities. Chinese manufacturer Huawei has latched onto the importance of being able to rapidly charge a device by introducing battery technology that accelerates the charging process.

Major Chrome Exploit Puts All Android Devices At Risk

Paul Morris·November 14, 2015
There's more bad news for the Android ecosystem from a security perspective. Guang Gong, a security researcher employed by Quihoo 360, has presented findings at this year's PacSec conference in Tokyo that demonstrates a serious vulnerability in the Android platform. The vulnerability that can easily be exploited by those with the correct knowledge is accessible thanks to a gaping security oversight in Android's native Chrome browser, but is made even more terrifying by the fact that it applies to every single version of Android with the latest version of Chrome installed.

Microsoft Can Thank Halo 5 For Helping Xbox One Outsell Rival PlayStation 4 In October

Paul Morris·November 13, 2015
It's sometimes difficult to believe that the strength and popularity of one gaming title can push a specific set of users to opt for one platform over the other. Granted, dedicated gamers are extremely passionate individuals, and more often than not often have a particular title or franchise that they enjoy more than most. But specifically opting for one device over another based on that strength of that title is a bold move. According to NPD data, subsequently shared by Microsoft, the software-giant company's Xbox One has managed to outsell Sony's PlayStation 4, with the assistance of the latest Halo 5: Guardians.
