You've seen the Samsung Galaxy S III; you've heard about the iPhone 5; but as of November 9th, a third flagship device will also be available to those on AT&T in the United States. I am of course talking about the Nokia Lumia 920, and with a new, Windows Phone 8 interface, a tweak on an already award-winning design and a camera already proven to outclass any other on the smartphone market, Steve Wozniak isn't alone in his hype of the device.

In the mobile market, it's fair to say Microsoft has a little catching up to do, but having already released a very promising mobile platform and, lest we forget, the Surface, the Redmond company is now setting its sights on the increasingly-popular 7-inch tablet market. Taking a slightly different angle to the manner in which the Nexus 7 and iPad mini have been marketed, rumor has it the software maker's effort will be pushed as a "gaming tablet," and work on the purported "Xbox Surface" is already said to be underway.
The general interest in photography has increased phenomenally as the cameras of smartphones have improved, yet while the latest high-end handsets can take a mean shot, they're still streets behind your professional DSLRs. Samsung has attempted to bridge the gap between the professional shooters of Nikon and Canon and the point-and-shoot culture our mobile devices are immersed in, by offering up the Samsung Galaxy Camera, and having announced the device some months ago, it looks as though it'll begin retailing in the United Kingdom later this week.
The Lightning dock has been on the market for six weeks now, with the iPad mini and iPad 4 joining the iPhone 5 as the first devices with the new proprietary connector. As is always the case with new Apple gadgets, sites like eBay are awash with thousands of Lightning connector accessories, and while some are more reputable than others, none have yet been released by any of Apple's official accessory partners. Belkin does fall under that umbrella though, and in showcasing a series of accessories for the aforementioned devices, is the first company to officially announce Cupertino-authorized Lightning goods.
With Windows 8 now out and selling in volume, Microsoft has somewhat turned its attentions to other important software implementations. As well as beginning to sell prepaid Skype credit in outlets across Mexico and the United Kingdom, it looks as though Skype will become the Redmond outfit's primary instant messaging service, retiring the long-standing Windows Live Messenger.
Apple has posted the iPad mini User Guide, and if you wish to download it, you can do so by following the link embedded at the end of this post. Whenever a new iOS device hits the market, the user guide always arrives fashionably late, and while the "Fingertips" leaflet provided with said iPhone, iPad or iPod touch gives users a general idea of how to get started with their shiny new device, the User Guide offers more in-depth coverage.
With Microsoft having dug deep to find billions of dollars to acquire Skype, it was inevitable we'd be seeing a lot more from the foremost online telecommunications outfit, and to supplement the many improvements to the software and technology laid on by Skype over the past twelve or so months, the company has just launched prepaid cards in many major retail outlets across the United Kingdom.
Those whom see the likes of Instagram as the debase of real photography, will be less than enthused to learn that Twitter is planning on integrating some kind of photo filtering system into its official mobile apps.
Ultrasn0w fixer has been updated for support on those running the marginally-tweaked iOS 6.0.1, released by Apple a few days ago. So those of you looking to maintain the carrier unlock you've treasured for so long can now do so on the very latest firmware.
Apple's Lightning to Micro USB Adapter can now be purchased by those residing in the United States. Hitherto, only Europe has seen the connector, which, as the name quite overtly suggests, allows one to connect an iPhone, iPad, or iPod with Lightning connector to a micro USB cable, for purpose of syncing with a computer or simply charging.
