Apple Watch Spotted In The Wild As April Release Draws Near [Photos]

While last week was dominated by Microsoft’s Windows 10 keynote event, the big news in tech over the past few days has been Apple’s record-breaking earnings call, and amid the number of eye-watering revelations, CEO Tim Cook also noted that Apple Watch was on track to begin shipping in April. With reports suggesting that a couple of thousand units are being tested ahead of launch, it’s not surprising that one or two have been spotted in the wild already, and with only a couple of months to go, the game of Spot An Apple Watch seems now to be in full swing.

The device, which, when you take into consideration the different colors, series and sizes, will span over 30 unique configurations, impressed onlookers when it was first showcased back in September alongside the iPhone 6, and after a lengthy period with very little official word from Apple, we now know that it’s close to being ready for the masses.

With extensive testing taking place, sightings were always going to occur, and new snap apparently depicting the impending wearable has just hit the blogosphere. It’s not a crystal clear shot, rather a grainy, distant preview of a theme that may repeat itself throughout every coffee shop and subway station in the months to come, and with comparatively little hype surrounding those smartwatches running Android Wear, this is shaping up as a sector that Apple could dominate.

Just because Cook has offered a ballpark launch period, though, this isn’t to say that there won’t be any further delays, especially since there have been some already. It is believed that Apple wanted to launch the product before the close of last year initially, but in typical fashion, has pushed things back in order to refine the experience.

From what we can gather, battery life has been a constant thorn in the Mac maker’s side through the development of Apple Watch, as it continues to be. Apparently, a full day’s mixed use has been achieved, which is encouraging, but you do feel that things will drastically improve in this regard with the eventual Apple Watch mark II.
