Apple To Launch 4 New iPhones In 2020: Two 6.1-Inch Models Along With 5.4-Inch And 6.7-Inch Models

Apple will release as many as four now iPhones in the fall of 2020, according to a new report by JPMorgan analyst, Samik Chatterjee.

That belief is based on channel checks, with phones coming in three different sizes; 5.4 inches, two 6.1-inch models, and one measuring 6.7-inches.

This particular report is markedly different to those that we’ve been seeing in recent weeks, all of which have a 5.4-inch and 6.7-inch Pro lineup while a lower end 6.1-inch model will replace the iPhone 11.

However, this new report would presumably see the lineup split down the middle – two high end, two low end iPhones released during the same timeframe. Interestingly, the differentiator between those two groups of iPhones won’t be 5G or OLED, according to the report.

The 2H20 lineup will include all OLED phones, with screen sizes of 5.4″ (one model), 6.1″ (two), and 6.7″ (one), broadening the screen size range from 5.8″ to 6.5″ in 2019. We expect the two higher end models (one 6.1″, one 6.7″) to include mmWave support, triple camera and World facing 3D sensing, while the lower-end models (one 6.1″, one 5.4″) will include support for only sub-6 GHz and dual camera (no World-facing 3D sensing).

The two more costly models will feature new camera technology that will allow for improved augmented reality capabilities, although it remains to be see whether that would be enough of a reason for buyers to spend big. It’s also suggested that while all four iPhones will have 5G capabilities, the two cheaper models won’t have the same technology and will operate at slower speeds as a result.
