Apple has today started selling two new accessories which will be of particular interest to iPhone XR and iPad Pro owners. Effectively immediately, the Cupertino-based company is selling a brand new clear iPhone XR case as well as a standalone 18W USB-C wall charger.
Let’s start with Apple’s long-awaited clear iPhone XR case which is now being offered via Apple.com and a number of other regional Apple websites. The case itself has been created from a blend of clear polycarbonate and flexible TPU plastics.
It offers a scratch-resistant coating applied to the interior and exterior of the case in order to keep it in pristine condition under normal use conditions. And, as you would imagine, the see-through clear design of the product is perfect for Apple’s iPhone XR given the fact that the device comes in an array of vivid colors. It’s also wirelessly charging friendly, as outlined by Apple’s description of the new clear case:
Thin, light and easy to grip — this case lets you enjoy the look of iPhone XR while providing extra protection. It’s also crafted with a blend of optically clear polycarbonate and flexible TPU materials, so the case fits right over the buttons for easy use. On the surface, a scratch-resistant coating has been applied not only to the exterior, but also to the interior. Need to wirelessly charge? Just leave the case on your iPhone and set it on your Qi charger.
In addition to offering the clear iPhone XR case, Apple is also now selling its 18W USB-C wall charger independently of the iPad Pro.
This accessory was previously only available with a purchase of iPad Pro but that’s a little extreme for those who simply want a fast charge-capable wall charger for their other devices, such as iPhone 8 or iPhone XS Max. Now, thanks to this decision, it’s possible to purchase the 18W charger as a standalone product without having to splunk the $700+ on a brand new iPad.
Both available immediate, the clear iPhone XR case is listed for sale for $39.00 on Apple.com with the 18W USB-C charger selling for $29.00 with the cable sold separately. You’d think iPhone XS or iPhone XS Max customers would get a discount on the charger but that’s not how you become of the world’s richest companies.
