Apple CEO Tim Cook Gave Trump The First Mac Pro

Yesterday saw a transfer of power in the United States and that means that there are now some interesting facts floating around, not least the financial disclosure report related to outgoing president Donald Trump.

Among other things, it seems Apple gave Trump, a Mac Pro.

According to a report by The Verge, Trump was given “the very first Mac Pro produced at the Flex Factory in Austin, Texas.”

However, it’s important to remember that factory has been building Mac Pros for more than seven years – although this may well have been the first Mac Pro based on the 2019 refresh.

The price, listed as $5,999, makes this a base model Mac Pro without wheels and, obviously, no monitor. Quite what Trump ended up doing with that Mac Pro is anyone’s guess, but we can’t imagine he was ever going to use it to run Xcode or anything of that ilk.

Alongside Apple, the likes of Ford and Boeing also gave Trump various gifts, something that appears to be part and parcel of being the president. He also seems to have been given a surprisingly large number of golf clubs and accessories. Considering Trump owns a few golf courses, we’d imagine he isn’t short of a golf club or two already.
