Adobe Lightroom Gets New AI Editing Features On iPhone, iPad, Mac, PC, More

It’s impossible to go longer than a few hours without someone announcing a new AI product or feature right now so it’s no surprise that Adobe has announced that its popular Lightroom photo editing app is getting new AI features of its own.

In a new press release, Adobe announced that the features will make it easier for people to edit photos using the power of Adobe Firefly AI.

The new AI feature will come to iPhone, iPad, and Mac as well as the web, Android, and PC users. Features include Generative Remove, a feature that will remove unwanted aspects of an image using AI.

Today, Adobe unveiled Generative Remove in Adobe Lightroom, bringing the magic of Adobe Firefly directly into everyday photo editing workflows across Lightroom mobile, web and desktop surfaces. Generative Remove is Lightroom’s most powerful remove tool yet, giving everyone the power to remove unwanted objects from any photo non-destructively in a single click by intelligently matching the removed area with pixel perfect generations for high-quality, realistic and stunning results.

Adobe also announced a handful of other improvements including new support for Sony digital cameras including the Alpha 7 IV and Alpha 7R V not to mention new HDR optimizations and instant access to photo libraries in both the Lightroom mobile and desktop apps. There’s also a new mobile editing experience that’s more streamlined, too.
