Action-Packed Adventure Game Dragon Hills For iOS Is Apple’s Free App Of The Week [$2 Value]

Another week, another free iOS app. As part of Apple’s Free App of the Week initiative, we have a addictive iPhone and iPad game called Dragon Hills just waiting to be grabbed absolutely free of cost. Usually retailing for $1.99, the game offers quick and instant fun right off the bat, with beautiful graphics and brilliant sound effects, and it can be yours for free till next Thursday. It is also the first time it has completely dropped its price tag on the App Store.

Dragon Hills is an action-packed adventure title with a story background that is not contemporary in the least. You play as a regular princess locked up in a castle waiting for your regular knight in shining armor to come rescue you, only that the knight ditches you. Furious, you decide to take revenge and in style, riding a dragon.

The gameplay is simple. It is essentially a continuous side-scroller where tapping the screen will take your mythical creature digging into the earth, and upon release will spring it out into the open where it will continue sliding across the contoured hills. Of course the terrain is full of objects that can be destroyed, or sheep that can be eaten. Be careful though, there are obstacles and traps across the land such as lava pools and spikes among others, so you need to time your underground travels and subsequent jumps to perfection as the difficulty increases at later stages.

• Fully destructible terrain
• Epic boss battles
• Upgradeable weapons, armor and explosive power-ups available for unlocking
• Easy to learn, intuitive one-touch controls combined with innovative gameplay
• Game Center achievements and leaderboards to compete with friends
• iCloud Support

As the levels in the game progress and you gain enough points, you can then upgrade weapons and armor which will be pretty much required when you find yourself in those nasty boss battles.
