Apple today announced the M6 versions of its iMac and popular 14-inch MacBook Pro, promising improved performance and strong battery life. The new machines were unveiled a day after Apple also announced the new iPad mini.
The new M6 iMac looks identical to the previous model and comes in seven vibrant colors, including blue, silver, purple, red, orange, yellow, and green. The same 24-inch Retina display is also present, with its 4.5K resolution.

On the inside, the M6 chip comes with a faster CPU and GPU, with a dual 16-core Neural Engine included to ensure faster AI performance than the M4 version of the same computer.
“iMac is the world’s best all-in-one, and today it raises the bar yet again,” said Shelly Goldberg, Apple’s vice president of Hardware Engineering. “With the blazing performance and AI capabilities of M6 supercharging every workflow and the next generation of Apple Intelligence with Siri AI — combined with its stunning 24-inch Retina display, its gorgeous design in seven vibrant colors, and macOS 27 — the new iMac has everything users need to run their businesses, manage their lives, and bring their ideas to life.”
The M6 version of the 14-inch MacBook Pro brings the M6 chip to Apple’s laptops for the first time while boasting 24 hours of battery life. This model comes with a 12-core GPU, which means up to 30% faster graphics and up to 25% faster AI workloads when compared to the M5 model.

It also sports a 12-core CPU with what Apple says is the world’s fastest CPU core. Beyond the new chip, the new M6 MacBook Pro offers much of what we’ve come to expect from such a popular, powerful machine. WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 6 are included, as is that stunning 14-inch Liquid Retina display, Touch ID, and a large trackpad.

“The 14-inch MacBook Pro is the pro laptop of choice for a wide range of users — from college students, to business professionals across every industry, to multidisciplinary creators doing it all on one device,” said Shelly Goldberg, Apple’s vice president of Hardware Engineering. “With the powerful M6 chip, we’re taking performance to the next level, with a boost in CPU speed and graphics and even more powerful capabilities for on-device AI. With its amazing battery life, remarkable Liquid Retina XDR display, and even faster connectivity, the new 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6 delivers a fantastic combination of performance, capability, and value.”

The new M6 iMac is available for preorder starting October 28, with a shipping date of November 6, starting at $1,499. The same dates apply to the 14-inch M6 MacBook Pro, with prices starting at $1,999.
