Apple is expected to launch its first foldable iPhone next year, and a new report claims that the company will make use of a new display unlike anything that is currently on offer.
According to the account yeux1122 on the Korean Naver blog, MacRumors reports, the foldable will have a new display for which Apple holds the branding trademark rights.

It’ll meet Apple’s exacting standards for brightness, thinness, and more. The report claims that Samsung is the company that has been working on building the new display. That display integrates the touch sensor directly into the display panel, which makes the display itself thinner than usual.
That means that the display will be around 19% thinner than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold models that are on sale now. Apple has long been said to have concerns about the display it would use in its first foldable, and it appears that Samsung might have found a way around those concerns.
Previous reports have suggested that the first foldable iPhone will have an internal 7.8-inch display with a 5.5-inch external display. The Touch ID sensor is set to be part of the power switch, as is the case with iPads, and it’s expected to be a costly device.

Apple is yet to confirm the foldable iPhone is coming, as would be expected, but the rumors are starting to take shape as we get closer to the final release date in 2026.
