Tesla is expected to release a new, 2026 Model S Plaid refresh electric sedan sooner or later, and it seems the company has been testing exactly that at the Nurburgring track in Germany with new photos being leaked today.
But spy shots suggest that we shouldn’t expect any big changes from that refresh.
New shots were shared after the EV was spotted being put through its paces at the famous track and proving ground, complete with camo wrap.
But that wrap only appears to have been used to cover some parts of the car, which suggests that those areas are the only ones that will be updated this time around.
The sole change at the front appears to be a small lower lip spoiler mounted below the existing bumper. Everything else remains unchanged, suggesting that the new Plaid will have a strikingly similar appearance to the 2021 Model S refresh.
A more aggressive rear bumper was also spotted in the photos, as was a set of new wheels that look to be bigger than those that ship with the stock Model S Plaid currently.
It is important to note that Lars Moravy, Tesla’s VP of engineering, had previously hinted that an updated Model S would arrive later this year. But those who had hoped for a big refresh now look set to be left disappointed.
