Cycloramic for iPhone 6 just went free on iTunes for a limited period. Earlier we covered Cycloramic built for the iPhone 5, but it worked for both the iPhone 4 and 4s. The award winning app, has now been specifically made for the iPhone 6, and allows users to capture hands-free panoramas and videos using the front-facing or rear camera. Cycoloramic achieves this by activating the built-in vibration motors of the iPhone 6 in a manner that allows the device to rotate a complete 360-degrees, as it captures images, and instantaneously stitches them together to generate a panoramic photo.
However unlike the previous version which had iPhone 4, 4s, 5 and 5s stand on their flat sides, the iPhone 6 cannot do the same given its rounded sides. You will have to place the phone propped up with an Apple wall charger or anything else that can keep the phone in an upright position. It will be important to choose a smooth surface to place it on for optimum and smooth photo capturing. Do note that the app is specifically meant for the iPhone 6 – the 4.7-inch model, and is not compatible with its larger sibling at 5.5-inches.
Other than the obvious purposeful feature, the app sports some more features, such as: a panoramic guidance system – aptly suitable for perfect photo capturing on an iPhone or even an iPad, and an immersive viewer to convert any photo into a video at 1080p. Photo editing and enhancement features from Aviary are also available, such as: crop, filters, frames, stickers, rotate, contrast, brightness and more.
Using the app, there’s a good chance you may scratch your new iPhone 6 when propped up with a charger. So it would be a good idea to cushion the points of contact with a tissue or something before letting Cycloramic take your device for an expensive 360-degree spin.
People seemed to have achieved fantastic results with their iPhone 5 and 5S without propping them up on chargers courtesy of flatter sides, but as iPhone 6 users have no choice, let us know how this app fared for you. Sound off in the comments section below!
