Infuse 4 App For Apple TV Coming Soon, Beta Version Out Today

Infuse, the popular app for iOS and other platforms that allows media lovers to watch their movies and TV shows in an app that not only looks gorgeous but also actually works, is coming to Apple TV.

The news was confirmed by a post on the FireCore blog, with Infuse 4 said to be coming soon. While the app doesn’t yet have a release date scheduled, the good news is that those who already own Pro version of Infuse 3 will be able to get the Infuse 4 Apple TV update for free. Also, if you signed up for an invite to beta test Infuse 4, you should have one in your inbox today.

The Apple TV’s addition of an App Store in its recent refresh has opened the door for all kinds of media playback apps that would normally only be available to those who jailbroke an older model of Apple’s set-top box. Now that the floodgates are open for the likes of Infuse to get their apps on the platform, expect to see some of the other big hitters in the category to start making their presence known. Plex, for example, is already available for download from the App Store and is, by all accounts, a great addition to the series of apps that has been making it easier to watch content from a media server for years.

As you can imagine, it’s been a very busy fall here, to say the least. However, we’re now (finally!) starting to see a beautiful bright light at the end of the tunnel, and that light is coming into form as Infuse 4 for Apple TV. We think what we’ve made is really great and we can’t wait to share it with you very soon.

Infuse is a very nice app indeed, and the thought of such an app making the jump to the Apple TV and thus the big screen has us eager for more. We were dubious as to whether an App Store was really needed on the Apple TV, but now it’s clear that the possibilities are rather interesting, to say the least.

Maybe the Apple TV just graduated from hobby to something we should really treat with a bit more respect.
