As far as weeks go, the last seven days haven’t been too bad for Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Following the well-documented IPO, which saw his web company valued at over $100 billion, he’s announced – via none other than his 900 million strong social network – that he has gotten married.

When an individual makes the kind of impact Steve Jobs managed to make in the consumer electronics industry, more often than not, a movie is made to offer a deeper, dramatized insight into proceedings – particularly when that individual has passed away. Such was the impact of the late, great Apple co-founder, that there are two movies being produced contemporaneously, both of which will undoubtedly claim to offer the most accurate, entertaining account of Jobs’ life.

One of the things I personally found most fascinating about the late, great Steve Jobs was his dogmatic approach to everything that he did. Unfazed by skepticism, he took visions and ideas, remained vigorously dedicated to them, and while some were relatively hit-and-miss, the company he co-founded with Steve Wozniak has produced some of the most iconic and era-defining devices and innovations ever seen.

It’s getting extremely interesting on the eve of Facebook’s IPO, with the social network managing to raise an incredible $16 billion, while setting the price per share at an impressive starting point of $38 apiece. As expected, the managers from the big-money companies have all been keen to get in on the act, and the share price leaves Facebook’s market value at an incredible $104 billion – half that of fellow web-based giant Google.

There has been a lot of internet chatter over the last week or so about Ashton Kutcher transforming himself to look like Apple founder Steve Jobs for the upcoming Jobs movie. The movie itself will more than likely end up being a cult hit, mainly because of the coverage it has received, but also because of the popularity of Jobs himself. It seems Kutcher will most definitely play a convincing role, but he may not be the only actor to play Steve Jobs on the big screen.

New photos of Ashton Kutcher have shown the actor walking the streets dressed entirely as the man he will be playing in an upcoming movie. That man is Steve Jobs, the former Apple CEO and co-founder who died last year.

Sony has announced today that it plans to partner with Activison to introduce yet another gaming bundle to the market, this time based off of the highly popular – practically a household name – first-person shooter, Modern Warfare 3. The bundle will include a 320GB PS3, and of course, a copy of MW3 for the decent cost of $299.

So, what has been foreshadowed and rumored over the past couple of months was recently officially announced by Microsoft in yet another fairly lengthy post on the Building Windows 8 blog: The company will be ditching the Windows Live brand. The products will continue to exist, of course, but they will no longer be under the umbrella of the Windows Live branding; instead, everything will be unified through what is called a Microsoft Account, formerly known as a Windows Live ID. We’ll have SkyDrive, Hotmail, and Messenger as services, which will be accessible on Windows 8 via the SkyDrive, Mail, and Messaging apps, respectively (this begs the question; is the future bleak for the actual Windows Live Messenger client?)

Imagine a dedicated Instagram-inspired camera dedicated to those old-fashioned, Polaroid shots we all know and love, and then picture that camera with the sleek, smooth edges of an iPhone 4S. Got a rough idea in your mind? Well, the chances are, you thought processes wouldn’t have led you to anything like the masterpiece crafted by resident concept-designer Antonio De Rosa, who has once again treated us to a sublime figment of his tech-tastic imagination.

So, BlackBerry World has happened, during which RIM unveiled the new BlackBerry 10 OS. It has been in the works for some time, and yet it still feels unfinished. Before I proceed with this any further, let me quickly go over the highlights of the new OS: The keyboard is pretty neat; they did something innovative where it learns how you type, and offers suggestions that you can swipe upwards to take advantage of. You can also swipe across the keyboard to delete words that you’ve already typed. The second main “innovation” is with the camera; you can take a photo and it will help you select the right moment by scrolling a bit forward or backward in a small period of time, so you can ensure that everyone has their eyes open in the photo.

We read news and information on a daily basis about individuals and companies trampling on other people for the purpose of self gain, so it is only right that proper credit is given out when it is due for large organizations that genuinely try to do something good in the world. Some people may be under the assumption that Facebook is just a social networking hub, but due to their global reach and importance in people’s lives, it stands to reason that they have a wider responsibility than just be a social network.

The 100 year anniversary of the sinking of the R.M.S. Titanic took place earlier this year – on April 14th, to be exact – and many reflected on and paid tribute to the disaster in many ways on that day. However, Australian billionaire Clive Palmer wants to do something a bit bigger to commemorate the ship; he announced that he plans to build a replica of the Titanic, with a maiden voyage from England to New York planned to happen in 2016.

George Hotz, known to most as serial exploiter Geohot, has been keeping something of a fairly low profile of late. Then again, when you’re used to jailbreaking consoles and smartphones while making viral rap videos aimed at Sony’s lawyers, I guess anything less than an explosion constitutes calmness and tranquility.

We all live our lives online. Be it Facebook, Twitter or any of the myriad other social networks, the chances are that you have plenty of online presence strewn across a variety of networks. Throw the recent Facebook acquisition, Instagram, in there as well, and there’s plenty of photos, comments and the like to be taken into consideration, too.

Although Nokia have been going through a rather difficult spell in recent years, they have still been managing to cling on to the top spot when it comes to global sales of cellphones – until now. According to new research conducted by a number of analytics firms, Samsung have ousted Nokia from the top of the leader board.

In the time period that has elapsed since Microsoft acquired Skype from its previous owners, its fair to say that the Redmond-based company was planning on making some changes to the service and stamping their own seal onto it before going forward. While we are yet to hear of any radical changes for the way in which the service operates, or any new additional user features, Microsoft has developed and released a Windows Phone Skype app, and has today announced that Sony’s new portable gaming device – the PS Vita – will also be given the Skype treatment.

To the cloud, file storage service! That certainly seems to be the mantra as of late. And the competition amongst companies who provide such services is definitely heating up. Dropbox, a popular choice for quite some time (its name is practically the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about cloud storage) is being threatened by SkyDrive, which really stepped up its game today. iCloud also provides an unbeatable seamless backup/syncing experience for users of iOS and Mac. On top of this, Google wants to get their foot in the door of this market with Google Drive.
