Tim Cook Sees People Owning Both Regular AirPods And AirPods Pro

Apple’s AirPods Pro have been around for a few days now and the reviews have been largely positive, almost overwhelmingly so, and from the media and buyers alike.

That’s good news for Apple CEO Tim Cook, and he thinks people will love AirPods Pro so much that they’ll use them alongside standard AirPods.

Speaking during Apple’s recent earnings call, Cook was explaining that AirPods Pro will likely be used by buyers when they need active noise cancellation. Other times, they’ll just use standard AirPods instead.

We’re anxious to see the customers for the new AirPod Pro. But I would guess that one, particularly in the early going, will be people that have AirPods today and want to also have a pair for the times they need noise cancellation.

We think Cook is at least half right, there. It’s very likely that early AirPods Pro adopters will own existing AirPods, but we can’t imagine anyone switching between the two. Instead, anyone upgrading to AirPods Pro will likely sell or give their AirPods away. After all, what is to be gained by using standard AirPods over AirPods Pro?

Apple released AirPods Pro with an in-ear fit and active noise cancellation earlier this week. Costing $249, they are considerably more expensive than AirPods, but that noise cancellation tech is said to be super impressive. If you picked a pair up, let us know how you find them in the comments.
