Tesla has updated its iPhone app to make it even more helpful. Now, if you’re using iOS 17.2 or later, you can see live Supercharging updates right on your iPhone’s Lock Screen and Dynamic Island, thanks to Live Activities.
What does this mean? Basically, when you plug your Tesla into a Supercharger, your phone will automatically start showing real-time charging info.
No need to keep opening the app to check how your car’s doing. Everything you need to know shows up right there on the Lock Screen. Pretty handy, right?
Here’s what you can see in the new Live Activity widget:
- Your Tesla’s current battery percentage
- How much time is left until charging is done
- The charging speed in kilowatts
- And maybe more helpful info!

If you have an iPhone 14 Pro or newer, you’ll also get these updates in the Dynamic Island. So now, even if you’re doing other things on your phone, you can still keep an eye on your charging session.
This small but smart update makes the Tesla app much more convenient for iPhone users. Whether you’re grabbing a coffee while your car charges or just waiting in the driver’s seat, you’ll know exactly how long to wait and how much charge you’re getting – at a glance.
To try it out, make sure your iPhone is updated to iOS 17.2 or later, and update your Tesla app to the latest version from the App Store. Also keep in mind that this for some reason will only work with Tesla’s own Supercharging. It won’t work for home AC charging on third-party fast DC charging. Hope support for those is also added sooner rather than later.
It’s a nice little upgrade that makes charging a Tesla just a bit easier!
