Late last week, iOS 5 Beta 5 was seeded to eager Apple developers. As always, many are asked the million-dollar question: can it be jailbroken? As with all previous builds, the answer is yes, with the latest version of Redsn0w which was just released, as long as you don’t mind plugging your device into your computer every time you power it on.
As you might be already aware, Apple has seeded iOS 5 Beta 5 to registered developers, but in order to sync with the new system, developers will have to download iTunes 10.5 Beta 5, which was also released just now. While we haven’t had the chance to try this new build out for ourselves just yet, it is expected to address its performance and get it ready for the final release, which should be just over a month away.
While the iPad 2 comes with out-of-the-box support for video mirroring over HDMI or VGA, the iPhone 4 and iPod touch 4G don’t. The interesting thing is that it has been proven that video mirroring works with the latter devices; maybe not as well as the iPad 2 but the fact is, they work and Apple purposefully has left out this functionality. Just months before iOS 5 is released and ten days after iOS 4.3.4 came out, one wouldn't expect to ever hear about iOS 4.3.5. It now turns out that yet another update for iOS 4.3 has been uploaded to Apple's servers, allegedly fixing a critical security issue.

With iOS 4.3.4 just released, rendering the also just-released super-simple JailbreakMe useless, some might be wondering how to jailbreak the new release of iOS. Well the iPhone Dev Team has just pushed a small update to Redsn0w to make it compatible with the just released iOS 4.2.4 firmware. This new version of Redsn0w can tether jailbreak most iOS devices on iOS 4.3.4, namely iPhone 4, 3GS, and iPod touch 4G/3G. The only device that's not supported at the moment is the iPad 2. The process should only take a few minutes to get Cydia up and running on your device.
