iOS 7 may have represented the most significant change to the look and functionality of Apple's mobile OS in its short history, but even though the flatter, brighter interface seems to have gone down well, the luxury of the Evad3rs jailbreak has prompted themes galore. Today, we're going to be looking at a neat little theme called Acies, which, although similar to the stock layout in that it keeps things flat, crisp and minimalistic, tones down the bright colors with a more tranquil, calm, and inviting finish.
If you've ever wanted to change the keys on your iOS keyboard to a funky shade of blue, well, you're in luck, because a little tweak by the name of BlueBoard does exactly that.
There's no denying that thanks to the likes of Instagram, people taking pictures of themselves and posting them onto social networks is in vogue. If you've been looking for an efficient way to take self-shots on your device without having to go through the rigmarole of finding your camera app and switching the lends to front-facing, then a new tweak called, but of course, Selfie, will help you achieve this.
The Google Admin app, which offers easy management of Google Apps domains in one place, has been available on Android for over nine months, with no real sign of a version for iOS. Today, however, the search giant has come through with the corresponding edition for iPhone, iPad and touch users, packing most of the same features right off the bat. Details, as well as the direct download link for the app, can be found after the break.
iOS includes its own emoji keyboard as standard, and although you have to manually activate it yourself via the Settings app, it does provide a decent enough selection of smiley faces and emoticons for some additional, paralinguistic context. But after a while, what might at first have appeared a wide and colorful selection quickly becomes a little boring, and suddenly, the cute little smiling cat face has us annoyed to high heaven. At times like this, it's nice to have other options, and Vmoji, which has long since offered support for unicode fonts, has now been updated for full iOS 7 compatibility. Check it out after the break!
The iOS 7 app switcher is incredibly slick, and after years of insufferable, barely-there, half-baked multitasking, certainly hasn't arrived before its time. As well as being functionally sound, the new app switcher also looks the part, but as with any aspect of iOS, there's always room for improvement where the jailbreak community is concerned. A new, free tweak over at the BigBoss repo enhances the experience by bringing full-screen previews to the app switcher, making full use of your device's display real estate. Check it out after the fold!
Multi-user capabilities have long since been a feature sought by iOS users, and while this is not yet a possibility at stock level, the freedom offered by a jailbreak means that the boundaries imposed by Apple can virtually be diminished. A new tweak called GuestMode, while not able to facilitate multiple users in the purest sense, does offer a Windows / OS X-like guest feature that puts you in control, allowing you to share your device with others without having to worry about them snooping your files or accessing certain apps.
Flappy Bird is not only enjoying the kind of popularity that Angry Birds achieved in its first year as a mobile title, but it's actually making a lot of people a great deal angrier than Rovio's popular series ever did. Amid the cursing and frustration, the developer has pushed an update to the iOS version of the game, touching up the graphics, offering a better frame rate for a smoother performance, while also adding a few new birds to proceedings.
Although Apple does not agree with the jailbreak community and does its utmost to prevent Cydia from reaching our devices, the Cupertino company has clearly been paying attention to some of the tweaks that have manifested from the center of the jailbreaking universe. Control Center, for example, seems heavily influenced by the famed SBSettings tweak, and although a user would previously have to jailbreak if they wished to enjoy animated wallpapers, now, this feature arrives as standard. But while it's easy enough to download other people's creations and set them as the home or lock screen backdrop, it's always nice to be able to cook up something unique, all by ourselves. For this very purpose, a new tweak by the name of WDynamic has just been released over at the BigBoss repo; more details after the leap.
Although Cydia is awash with themes, apps and an endless supply of tweaks that could readily eat away at your device's storage space, sometimes, it's nice to keep things simple. Some of the tweaks we've featured here post-Evasi0n7 have wonderfully demonstrated that you don't need to bombard the interface with widgets and additional fodder just because you can, and that actually, minimalism good. StatusBarSuite follows this kind of ethos, allowing you to de-clutter your status bar of all the annoying little icons you don't wish to see. Check it out after the fold.
