One of our favorite scanning apps for iOS has just gone completely free, down from its usual price of $1.99. With the latest update also bringing some interface tweaks in-keeping with the flatter look of iOS 7, it's arguably the complete package, and if you've been looking for a simple, convenient and functional way to scan your documents in using your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, then it's your lucky day!
I'm not sure whether it's down to the fact that Apple decided to make some significant visual alterations with iOS 7, or just the fact that the jailbreak community has continued to grow at an incredible rate, but there's definitely been a noticeable spike in the volume of new tweaks and themes added to Cydia following the universal Evasi0n jailbreak for iOS 7. Not that we're complaining, though, and having recently been impressed by the simplicity of Surenix's Ayeris theme for both iPhone and iPad, the Eli7e theme offers its own unique, polished take on how Apple's mobile OS should look. Check it out below!
We simply cannot deny that we live in an extremely social world. As a society, we may not thrive on getting out and about and interact with one another face-to-face anymore, but you only have to look at the popularity of social networks and messaging apps to realize how import digital communication is in the modern world. It's almost a given that any accomplished app or tweak that focuses on messaging, sharing or communication is instantly going to be successful, which is why the developer of Compose for iOS 7 could be onto a winner.
Before iOS 7, when multitasking was basically a non-feature of Apple's mobile operating system, tweaks like Auxo made app switching a beautiful, functional experience. Even though multitasking boasts much more fluidity these days, we were no less enthused when A3Tweaks announced late on in February that Auxo 2 would be arriving for iOS 7 within a few weeks. Unfortunately, it's not quite ready for prime time just yet, but things are certainly progressing, as displayed by a new teaser shot posted to Vine.
Our regular readers will remember that just over a week ago we brought a beautiful iOS 8 concept video to your attention. The Mission Control concept was designed to build on the work that has already been implemented in iOS 7 by taking things a little further to mix the Control Center and multitasking facilities together. The implementation of the concept definitely managed to strike a chord with us, and as you know, the jailbreak community never seems to waste any time in snapping up a good idea and making it a reality. It looks like Mission Control has been rebranded as Vertex and will be heading to a Cydia based repository near you in the near future.
The iOS 7 lock screen clock is elegant, minimal, and does exactly what it needs to, and while the smaller status bar clock will serve you well throughout the rest of iOS, it is, in every sense of the phrase, not really much to look at. A neat little iWidgets-based tweak called SevenClock brings the famed lock screen clock to the home screen, and if you're a fan of minimalism as we are, this tweak will greatly accentuate the look you're striving for.
The official Google Hangouts app for iOS has been around for quite a while, and has received a ton of changes since its very inception. And today sees the app being updated to version 2.0, bringing with it a bunch of new cool features and changes.
iOS has been designed by Apple to be as visually appealing as possible to the widest audience. Granted, not everyone is going to agree with the overall look and feel of a piece of software, but the challenge for a company like Apple is to come up with a visual layout that captures the imagination of as many users as possible. For those who don't agree with that artistic vision, and who are jailbroken, there is always the option to theme the device and change the firmware's appearance. And now there is an option for iOS 7 users to change the color of the displayed keyboard on a jailbroken device, thanks to the ColorY0urBoard tweak.
A number of developers have already updated their tweaks and themes for iOS 7, while others are still frantically working on getting their masterpiece in front of the masses. The Athena package by Vatsal Manot was often relied on by pre-iOS 7 users to apply a little flair and style to the device without the need for large WinterBoard theme installations . It may have taken a while, but Manot has rewritten his package from the ground up to be fully compatible with iOS 7 and released it as a new tweak known as Athena 2.
There are parts of my childhood that I will always cherish, and Disney animated movies is definitely on the top of the list. The best part about them is the fact that they’re ageless - you still enjoy those titles as much today as you used to earlier.
