Ben Reid·April 18, 2013
Yahoo! drifted into relative anonymity for a considerable period during the 2010s, sitting on the sidelines as Google almost single-handedly dominated with its assortment of powerful Web-based apps. However, the company has been busy reinventing its image of late, and as part of that movement, the Sunnyvale outfit has just introduced a couple of new apps for iPhone, iPad and Android tablets. As well as Yahoo! Weather for iPhone, there's a new Mail app catering to the larger displays of the iPad and Android-running tablets.

Ben Reid·April 11, 2013
The Samsung Galaxy S4 is due to hit the market later on this month, but already, iOS developers have begun the task of offering Apple device users some alternatives to the new, S4-specific features. Earlier on this week we featured DuoCam app which introduces the Dual Shot feature for iPhone, an app which seeks to replicate one of Galaxy S4's most applauded features, and today, an iPhone-made take on the Smart Pause feature has just emerged over at the App Store. With so many different applications making up Sammy's "Smart" range, it's difficult to keep track of them all, but Smart Pause, which automatically pauses media when a user looks away from their device, has somewhat manifested itself on iOS in the form of LookAway Player.

Ben Reid·April 4, 2013
The native ability of most mobile devices to take screenshots can be incredibly useful, particularly if, like us, you're in the business of reviewing apps and games. As you may have noticed from some of our jailbreak posts, adding a device-like frame can turn a boring old capture into a beautiful, lifelike impression of a device in action, and although Photoshop skills tend to be required for these kinds of edits to be made, you can now add such frames natively on both iOS and Android. We've found two of the best apps in Screenshot - Frame Maker for iOS and Device Frame Generator for Android, and if you'd like to visually enhance some of your screen captures, check out the lowdown on each after the break!

Reeder App For iPad And Mac Goes Free For Limited Time, Development Will Continue Despite Google Reader Shutting Down

Ben Reid·April 2, 2013
With Google having confirmed its intention to cease operation of Google Reader (in spite of hundreds of thousands of petition signatories pleading them to reconsider), Reeder has found itself looking a little bit lost. The app's creator Silvio Rizzi has spent the past couple of weeks trying to assure users of the popular app that it wouldn't "die with Google Reader," but with Rizzi himself lining up one or two projects in the same field, many still suspect the service is about to be culled, the outlook is bleak. On a brighter note, as of today, Reeder for Mac and iPad is free of charge, and we've got the details and download links coming right up after the break.

Tunable, an app for iOS and Android, not only wants to make tuning just that little bit easier, but with a very beautiful interface, users can also marvel at the stunning visuals produced during the process.
