iPad Air 2 And iPad mini 3 Confirmed By iOS 8.1 User Guide On iBooks Store

Zayed Rehman·October 16, 2014
So the iOS 8.1 User Guide just went up on Apple's iTunes Store, and someone at Apple is sheepishly looking around, hoping no one noticed. Apple seems to have spilled the beans about the heavily rumored iPad Air 2 and the iPad mini 3, which we can finally confirm to be announced tomorrow. Earlier there were onslaughts of iPad rumors and there were even concerns that Apple may not announce the much awaited tablets, in all this confusion. So here you have it folks, the iPad Air 2 and the iPad mini 3 are all set to make an appearance on stage tomorrow.

iPad Air 2 Will Be In Limited Supplies At Launch, 27-inch Retina iMac Debut Confirmed

Paul Morris·October 15, 2014
It's the period of time when educated speculation, wild conjecture and insane fantasy starts to get thrown around pertaining to what we could actually see being introduced during Apple’s event tomorrow. The invitation headline of "It's been way too long" doesn't really give much away, but needless to say that hasn't stopped even the deepest, darkest corners of the Internet from chipping in with its two cents worth. As we try to separate the "potentials" from the "no ways" we once again take guidance from KGI Securities’ analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has a proven track record of predicting what lies ahead and believes that tomorrow's event could be heavily iMac centric.

If The iPad Air 2 / Mini 3 Looked Like iPhone 6 / 6 Plus [Concept Images]

Zayed Rehman·October 14, 2014
With just a few days left to the unveiling of the new iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 at Apple's event, well-known designer Martin Hajek has released rendered images of the new tablets from the Cupertino giant. Hajek's images are an attempt to showcase what the iPad Air 2 and mini 3 could look like if Apple decides to take design cues from the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Unlike the previous generations, the new iPhones have taken an altogether different design route with curved edges, plastic bands dividing the rear aluminum backplate into three regions, and an overall slimmer shell. It would be the first time that Apple launched a phone with a protruding camera as well. Hajek takes these design elements and shows us what unsurprisingly looks like a stretched iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus.

As has long since been suspected, Apple will be holding a special event next week on October 16th, and likely topics of conversation will pertain to the iPad, OS X Yosemite, iOS 8.1 and possibly a couple of new Macs as well. Should all of these products roll out at the same time, it'll be a fairly busy affair, and for those wishing to tune in, Apple will be live streaming proceedings right from Town Hall.

It’s Official: Apple Sends Out Invites For iPad / Mac Event On October 16th

Ben Reid·October 8, 2014
Apple has just sent out invitations to a special media event on October 16th, which will take place at Town Hall on the company's Cupertino campus. With the event considered a certainty and the venue long since rumored, it was just a matter of when, and with the invitations having now been distributed, we know that 10/16 will be the date for Apple's second major keynote in as many months.

iPad Air 2 Leak Shows Touch ID, Thinner Profile, More [Video]

Ben Reid·October 8, 2014
Apple's iPad refresh is set to take place in around two weeks' time, and given the imminent nature of the announcement, we're likely to begin seeing quite a few leaks and tidbits of information over the next fortnight. Kicking us off, a new video has emerged of a dummy iPad Air 2, which features redesigned, iPhone 6-like volume buttons, a sleeker finish and, as has long since been suspected, a Touch ID fingerprint sensor.

Apple To Hold iPad, Yosemite, iMac Event On October 16 [Report]

Ben Reid·October 4, 2014
The month of October is invariably the point at which Apple takes the wraps off its latest tablet upgrades, and over the next few weeks, we're anticipating the public release of OS X Yosemite 10.10, a new iMac / Mac mini, and also iOS 8.1 to accompany the refreshed iPad Air and iPad mini with Retina display. According to a very reliable source - the same source that correctly offered a concrete date on the iPhone 6 event last month, no less - the new hardware and software will be announced at a special event on October 16th, to be held at Town Hall.

Apple To Offer New iPad In Gold Color Option

Paul Morris·October 1, 2014
We've got the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. We've had an initial look at the soon-to-be-released Apple Watch. We've even see a glimpse at what Apple deems to be the future of mobile payments using NFC in Apple Pay. That leaves us with nothing but time to focus and mull over what the Cupertino company could potentially have in line for us with the future of the iPad. It's pretty much a given that we will see an iPad refresh before the end of the year, but keeping in line with previous reports and leaks, Bloomberg is now adding weight to the speculation that any new full-size iPad could be offered in multiple colors.
