Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 With 6-inch Display Announced, Here Are The Details

Ben Reid·September 23, 2014
Samsung never seems to take a break from releasing smartphones, and having only rolled out the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge earlier on this month, has just taken the wraps off the successor to the Galaxy Mega. Like the original handset - it's hard to call it a handset given the sheer size of the thing - the Galaxy Mega packs a sizeable display, pushing the 5.8-inch diameter of the previous version up to the 6-inch mark. As was the case before, though, the specs are nothing to write home about, so if you're seeking mid-range performance over a large canvas, join us below for the finer details.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 Smartphone Will Feature A Monstrous 7-inch Display

Ben Reid·May 20, 2014
Samsung has long since been known to push the boundaries when it comes to increasing the display sizes on mobile devices. As well as the Galaxy Note, which is credited with founding the "phablet" market, the company also took the wraps off the Galaxy Mega last year, which packed a mammoth 6.3-inch display. In this day and age, we're accustomed to a new release per product line per year, and apparently, the Galaxy Mega's forthcoming successor will include a whopping 7-inch display.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8” And 6.3” Colossal Smartphones Officially Announced

Ben Reid·April 11, 2013
It's no secret that Samsung likes to entertain the idea of increasingly larger displays, and with the company's Galaxy Note II already being one of the largest-screened smartphones currently available on the market, previous reports have shed light on a couple of colossal 'Galaxy Mega' handsets, which would both offer considerably more real-estate than the flagship phablet. Today, it has emerged that both of these Mega handsets could be releasing contemporaneously next month in Europe, with a 5.8-inch and 6.3-inch model further distorting the line between smartphone and slab.

Samsung Reportedly Working On Supersized ‘Galaxy Mega’ Smartphones

Ben Reid·April 2, 2013
Samsung is well known for pushing the boundaries in the mobile division, never shy to pack in seemingly excessive hardware like the Galaxy S4's octa-core Exynos 5 processor. As well as continually pushing the overpowered SoCs, the Korean company also enjoys pushing the displays sizes up further and further, and although there must eventually come a point whereby the limit is reached and the screen cannot get any bigger, it doesn't look as though that time will be coming anytime soon. With the Galaxy Note II at 5.5-inches and the Galaxy S4 offering 5-inches of real estate, the latest reports suggest the company is ready to turn things up a notch with a new line of 5.8-inch and 6.3-inch 'Galaxy Mega' handsets.
