Apple's new fourth-generation Apple TV comes with a lot of marketed hardware, software and feature improvements that the Cupertino-based company is keen to publicize. But it also seems that it comes with a little trick up its sleeve that hasn't thus far made it onto any the official promotional material or website. Consumers opting to purchase the new Apple TV set-top box will be pleased to learn that the set-top-box is capable of supporting stereoscopic 3D apps on connected 3DTVs.

Sony unveiled today at E3 a new 24-inch 240Hz 3D high-definition screen made specifically for the PlayStation 3, along with 3D active-shutter glasses that don't only work with Sony's own TV's, but they're also capable of handling displays from third-parties.
