Philips Announces New Hue Table Lamps, White Ambiance Bulbs And Fixtures

Philips was already one of the biggest names to support Apple’s HomeKit platform for iOS-compatible home automation devices, but the company is now expanding its Hue lineup, with new White Ambiance bulbs, fixtures and two new lamps making an appearance.

Put on sale by Philips yesterday, the Philips Hue White Ambiance 40W-equivalent candle bulb comes equipped with the E12 base that makes it perfect for use with things like ceiling fans or table lamps and it joins the existing Philips Hue White Ambiance range.

Those looking to deck out their homes with bulbs should also check the entire range out, including the more familiar A19 bulb, GU10 spot light and BR30 downlights. Complementing its smart light lineup are the new brushed aluminium Philips Hue White Ambiance Being Flushmount and White Ambiance Fair fixture with the latter offering three different styles.

As far as the new lamps are concerned, the Philips Hue White Ambiance Wellner and Wellness products both ship with an A19 800 lumens light bulb. This allows for customizable white light anywhere in the home.

Anyone wanting to pick up the newly announced kit can order the Hue White Ambiance Being Flushmount as well as Hue Wellner and Wellness table lamps right now, though you won’t get them just yet. Customers can place pre-orders, with the fixture costing $199.99, and lamps starting at $99.99. The Philips Hue White Ambiance candle bulb is $29.99 but will not be available for pre-order until June.

Whichever product you plump for, you will get a lighting accessory or device that includes full support for Apple’s HomeKit and all the trappings that come with it. After a slow start, HomeKit is starting to show its promise and if you are willing to spend the cash, can form the cornerstone of a fully connected and automated home. The future is here, so long as you pay for it and own an iOS device.
