Pages+ For iPhone Lets You Customize Individual Home Screens On Your Device
Thanks to the recently released Evasi0n untether package, the jailbreak community has become alive with activity. More importantly, the package submissions to the default repositories in Cydia have become more frequent and of a higher quality, meaning that we should see some innovation injected back into the world of jailbreaking. SBCoders, makers of the popular Deck and Aero packages are also back in the public eye with the release of their latest premium package, Pages+.
Don’t be fooled by the name. The package doesn’t offer any kind of extended functionality to the iOS Pages app. Instead, the tweak exists to give users the choice of adding a little extra pizazz to the various home screens that they have on their jailbroken device through the addition of wallpapers and card style enhancements. Rather than bringing any kind of actual innovation in terms of functionality, Pages+ will likely appeal to those who like to tweak and modify the aesthetics of their device.
First and foremost, Pages+ brings with it the ability to set an individual wallpaper for each home screen on the iPhone or iPod touch. Rather than following the stock behavior of only being allowed to set one wallpaper for the lock screen, and one for all home screens; Pages+ changes things up a little and offers that extra versatility. The package also allows us to implement a fairly plain backing panel that sits behind the bounds of the installed app icons.
Using different combinations of wallpapers and backing panels will definitely bring a little extra spice to the device, but it would have been nice to see some additional options, considering the $1.99 price-tag attached to the tweak. The plus side is that Pages+ should also be brought to life through the installing of additional theme bundles and packages from Cydia. Those who love to customize the look of their iOS devices should definitely be able to come up with some pretty decent Pages+ combinations.
Pages+ is available as a $1.99 from the ModMyi repository and is compatible with the iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 5.1 through 6.1.
