Today, in an attempt to have better interaction with general public, The White House has announced the official iPhone and iPod touch app named ‘The White House’. This app offers latest news updates, videos, photos and blog posts from the official White House blog. In addition, it also delivers live video streaming which from now on will enable iPhone and iPod Touch users to watch future Presidential addresses live on their favorite iDevice. The app also opens up access to White House speeches and press briefings in real-time.
Last week, HTC released a capacitive stylus for HTC HD2 which is specially designed for capacitive touch-screens like the ones found on iPhone, Nexus One and HD2. Folks over at BGR have got hold of exclusive list of features, which they have been told are confirmed to be a part of the upcoming iPhone 4.0 Firmware. The next iPhone firmware is rumored to be very close, if not same as the OS on the rumored Apple Tablet. It is said to include multitouch gestures OS wide, multitasting (finally yay!), lots of UI changes including a refreshed homescreen! and more syncing options for the native contacts and calendar apps.
The dispute over censorship row on Google search engine by Chinese authorities has not been resolved as yet. In fact, it has now gone so messy that Google has been forced to postpone the launch of two of its new Android phones from Motorola and Samsung on the Chinese mainland. These two Android phones were originally scheduled to be released on Wednesday on the China Unicom carrier. Google did not specify as to when or if ever the launch would take place.
According to this report from Clayton Morris of Fox News, we’ll see Apple Tablet, the next-gen iPhone software dubbed as “iPhone 4”, and iLife 2010 next week at the special Apple event in San Francisco. The next-generation iPhone 4G however wont be the part of the event. A Spanish site named Muywindows has grabbed exclusive screenshots from the upcoming Service Pack for Windows 7. The screenshots seems to have been taken from a demo copy of a Pre SP1 Build of Windows 7 which according to them will be handed over to a selected pool of private testers in the coming weeks.
As we all know, Google Voice client app is currently not available for non-jailbroken iPhone users. Both GV Mobile and Voice Central clients for Google Voice were available earlier for a short period, but then they were soon removed by Apple from the App Store due to "duplicating features that the iPhone comes with (Dialer, SMS, etc)". Later, the developer Sean Kovacs brought GV Mobile to Cydia. Consequently, it is now available for jailbroken iPhone users (with GV accounts) for free.
