Having problem with jailbreak tweaks on iOS 7 crashing and not working after a reboot or a fresh install? Here's a workaround fix for Mobile Substrate which will temporarily get your tweaks running until official fix is rolled out on Cydia.
Updated Evasi0n 7.x untether package has just gone live on Cydia. The new version 0.2 of the package in Cydia brings all the changes that were part of standalone Evasi0n7 1.0.1 which was released as a tool for Windows and Mac a few days ago.
Now that Evad3rs has launched an iOS 7 jailbreak, we're all sat impatiently waiting for what has to be the most obvious tweak that anyone could wish for on an iPhone 5s. In fact, it's something that we've been asking Apple to add in subsequent releases of iOS 7, but it doesn't look like it's going to be forthcoming. At least, it's not in iOS 7.1 as yet.
It's amazing how jailbreaking seems to go in waves. We have those busy spells where all we ever seem to hear about is new tweaks and apps hitting Cydia that should, hopefully, blow our minds and change the way we use our iOS devices. Then we have a period like the one that we've just come out of, where interest seems to wane and jailbreaking almost slips into hibernation.
Instagram, love it or loathe it, is very much the center of many of our lives. It's how people share photos of their kids, their holiday destinations and their family gatherings. Yes, there are plenty of people who post nothing but photos of their breakfasts or are busy taking selfies at funerals, but for every pointless photo on Instagram, we're willing to bet there are two that are magnificent. Just follow Trey Ratcliff's feed and you'll see what we mean.
The release of an iOS 7 jailbreak is certainly the biggest news of the last week, but that left us all wishing that Cydia would be updated to something that looked a little more iOS 7-like. Sure enough, the update to Cydia rolled around, but somewhat oddly the app's icon wasn't updated accordingly. On a home screen full of icons that are nice and flat, Cydia's stands out like a sore thumb.
It's fair to say that changing an iPhone's carrier logo is one of the more basic things that people jailbreak their iOS devices for. It's also one of the most named reasons for jailbreaking, with some people seemingly happy to just get rid of some overly long, scrolling carrier names even if it means hacking their device's software. And who are we to argue?
Want a iPhone screen recorder app for iOS 7? Now that the iOS 7 jailbreak is publicly available for all devices, we have started seeing much welcomed influx of powerful and innovative tweaks landing on Cydia's repositories. One of the few to catch our attention is a beta version of CoolStar's RecordMyScreen tweak that has been updated and made available specifically for iOS 7 devices.
The Windows Experience Index that was initially introduced in Windows Vista is probably the most basic form of benchmarking that you can get for a Windows based PC. Although Microsoft didn’t really introduce it for benchmarking, but rather, as a measure to determine whether your PC will be able to handle a certain application software or not. However, in modern day computers, Windows Experience Index (WEI) was an easy means of tracking which component was bottlenecking the performance of your machine. With Windows 8.1, however, that was no longer the case.
The relatively rushed nature of the Evasi0n7 jailbreak means that certain fundamental aspects such as Cydia and MobileSubstrate had been relegated to the background in favor of the release. Jay Freeman and his willing helpers have managed to get Cydia updated for iOS 7, but as we wait for a MobileSubstrate announcement, the BiteSMS team has made an announcement of their own.
