Apple Store App For Apple Watch Is In The Works

Zayed Rehman·April 30, 2015
As the Apple Watch rolls out to few users at a time, while plenty await with their fingers crossed, Apple is gearing up for increasing the number of hardware it sells - be it an iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac etc.. How is Apple going to pull that off? By releasing the Apple Store app on the Apple Watch.

Samsung Overtakes Apple To Reclaim Top Spot In Smartphone Shipments, But Profits Slump

Zayed Rehman·April 30, 2015
During the end of last year, we saw Apple draw in close to Samsung as the world’s largest smartphone maker, where both rivals managed to ship around 74 million devices in the fourth quarter of 2014, with Apple just edging out Samsung. Much to Samsung’s relief, the company has managed to regain its leading position in the first 3 months of 2015, with a catch.

Continuum For Phones Can Transform Windows 10 Smartphone Into A Full Desktop PC

Ben Reid·April 30, 2015
One of the major implementations that Microsoft is making with Windows 10 is to further unify its rather fragmented platform. After Windows 8, Windows RT and Windows Phone 8, the software giant is touting a system that offers optimal, fully-fledged Windows experiences irrespective of the device being used. Underlining this, the company has just taken the wraps off Continuum for Phones, a Windows 10 for Phones feature that will allow smartphones to morph into desktop PCs when connected to larger displays.

Meet Microsoft Edge, The Internet Explorer Replacement That Can Run Chrome Extensions

Ben Reid·April 30, 2015
Microsoft has been very, very busy in its preparation for Windows 10. More than just a superficial update, the company is rebuilding a lot of its software components from the ground upwards, including its famed surfing client. Internet Explorer's time passed many years ago, and over the past few months, we've seen tidbits of its successor, which was codenamed Project Spartan. Today, at the software maker's BUILD dev gathering, Project Spartan has been officially named Microsoft Edge, and while you're probably glad to see the back of IE, there are plenty of reasons to instead be more excited about what Spartan has to offer.

iPad ‘Test Model’ Stolen During House Robbery In Cupertino

Oliver Haslam·April 29, 2015
Some stories are just too strange to be true, or so unlikely that they're unbelievable. Sometimes though, truth really is stranger than fiction. Like the time someone left an iPhone prototype in a bar. Yeah, that happened.

This Wireless Battery Pack Attaches To Your iPhone Using Magnets [Video]

Paul Morris·April 29, 2015
It's no secret that the capabilities and technology contained within smartphones has progressed exponentially over the last decade. However, with that advancement comes the obvious trade-off; degraded battery life. There are plenty of options available in terms of third-party battery packs to offer additional juice while on the move. However, this new offering from a startup called Rubix looks to make things a little less clumsy for the end-user by offering additional iPhone battery life via a magnet connected pack.

Apple Watch Sapphire Display Compared With Tissot, Evaluated Using Diamond Tester [Video]

Zayed Rehman·April 29, 2015
The stainless steel Apple Watch and the higher-end Edition variant come with a sapphire crystal display, according to Apple itself. However, there's a lot of debate going around, with a good portion of fans and non-fans alike, suggesting that sapphire crystal on a device of this nature is a pure gimmick, and not really the material which Apple alleges it to be.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Is Poor At Managing RAM

Ben Reid·April 29, 2015
One of the many features to be appreciated of the Samsung Galaxy S6 - like most of the company's top-end smartphones, to be fair - is the raw power under the hood. Unsurprisingly, Sammy has delivered an absolute beast of a handset once more in the S6, and allied to its 64-bit, octa-core Exynos processor, the flagship also throws in a substantial 3GB of RAM. But while these features all seem dandy when written down, Qualcomm's overheating Snapdragon 810 has proved that weighty-sounding tech specs don't always deliver the goods, and some users of the S6 have found it to be burning through more RAM during menial use than necessary.
