macOS 14 Compatibility: Full List Of Macs Compatible With Apple’s Desktop OS

Here is macOS 14 compatibility list showing Macs that are compatible with Apple’s latest desktop operating system.

Now that Apple’s macOS 14 has officially been announced we not only know what new features it will add but also which Macs it will work with, and that means we now know whether we’ll need to upgrade to a new Mac to install it.

Apple announced the macOS 14 software update as part of the WWDC23 event that took place on Monday, June 5. That event also saw the company unveil the new software that will power the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Apple TV moving forward. All of the software announced at WWDC 2023 is set to be released to the public in the fall.

As for compatibility, the new macOS 14 release will work just fine on the following Macs or newer. Obviously, all Macs announced from here on out will also run the new software update, too.

  • iMac 2019 or later
  • iMac Pro
  • MacBook Air 2018 or later
  • MacBook Pro 2018 or later
  • Mac Pro 2019 or later
  • Mac Studio
  • Mac mini 2018 or later

If you’re Mac falls outside of this list then you’re going to have to consider upgrading to something a little newer if you want to be able to run the latest desktop software that Apple has to offer. Fear not though, Apple will no doubt continue to release security updates for its older software and the Macs that are running it for some time to come.
