Luca Todesco is back at it again, this time showing off iOS 10.1.1 jailbreak being successful with Cydia running on an iPhone 7.
This latest jailbreak development from Luca Todesco comes hot on the heels of another developer who recently posted a video showing off his iOS 10.1 jailbreak in action running on an iPhone 7. While @ijapija00 claimed his iOS 10.1 jailbreak worked on iOS 10.1.1 as well, he never posted a proof of it. Luca is the first to have posted a proof of a jailbreak being successful on the latest iOS 10.1.1 firmware.
As is usually the case though, Luca likely doesn’t have any plan to share his jailbreak or exploits with public. He, being a security researcher first, will keep the exploits used in this jailbreak private for his research purposes only.
“Updated my stuff so it works on 10.1 too now.” said Luca in a Tweet posted on his Twitter account. It is likely that he is using same exploits here that he previously used to jailbreak iPhone 7 on initial versions of iOS 10.
So far, we have seen a number of different jailbreaks being teased for iOS 10 starting off with the first one shown by iH8sn0w way back in June when Apple released the first beta of iOS 10. At MOSEC 2016, Pangu Team showed off a jailbreak working on iOS 10 betas as well, and finally by Luca Todesco who also demonstrated a iOS 10 jailbreak on beta 8 seed of iOS10. Luca later showed off successful jailbreaks for iOS 10 GM seed on iPad and iOS 10.0.1 on iPhone 7.

With Apple now having released iOS 10.2 beta, it will be interesting to see if any of these jailbreaks will work on that firmware. iOS 10.2 brings a number of new features to iPhones and iPads, including 72 new Unicode 9 emoji characters, a new full-screen effect for Messages app, Single Sign-on (TV Provider), Preserve Settings for Camera, new wallpapers for iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus users, and more. Apple is expected to release final version of iOS 10.2 to public before the end of this year.
