Download: Unshaky For macOS Fixes MacBook Pro Keyboard Problems

The issues that befall Apple’s current notebook lineup are well documented, and if you own one with a failing keyboard you’ll know exactly what we mean.

Keyboards with keys which stop working or start to double-enter characters are far too common, but there’s a software solution that may go some way to helping alleviate the issue for some.

The app, called Unshaky, is a Mac app that monitors a keyboard for input and then starts to block any input that it deems to have been caused by a faulty keyboard. That means that if the app detects a double key-press, it will decide whether it’s intentional or not and if not, prevent the second press from ever being registered.

Everything is user configurable for those who want to get involved with how things work, with a configurable delay available. The developer suggests that you stick with the defaults however, and if they’re working fine we see no reason to suggest doing otherwise.

While this app will obviously help with detecting double taps, it won’t help you with keyboards that simply don’t register taps at all. If that’s the case, you’re left with only one option – take it into an Apple Store or an authorized dealer for either repair or replacement. Apple is aware that it has an issue with these keyboards at this point, so hopefully you’ll be able to get the work done without too much fuss.

If this app can do a job for you, you can download it for free right now from here, but if it does help, please do consider making a donation to the developer. Nobody should work for free.
