You can now download iOS 17.1 final IPSW links and OTA update for the iPhone and iPad — and here are all the details.

Apple has now made iOS 17.1 available for download after weeks of testing and while it isn’t as big a release as iOS 17, it’s still one that is well worth taking a look at. We’d suggest installing it as soon as possible, not least because this is an update that brings improvements to AirDrop, StandBy, and more.

Perhaps the biggest new feature is support for allowing AirDrop file transfers to continue over the internet even when the direct AirDrop connection is out of range. That allows you to initiate a transfer and then move away from the source or destination without halting it.

Another update is new controls when using StandBy on iPhones with Always-On Displays, while improvements to Music include new favoring options for albums, songs, and playlists.

You can now download this iOS 17.1 update alongside iPadOS 17.1. Both updates are offered via the usual over-the-air method and via manual IPSW file downloads, too.
