Android 10 Final Released For Pixel Phones, Factory And OTA Images Available For Download

After months of beta testing Google has now released the new Android 10 final update for Pixel phones. The update can be downloaded either over-the-air or via the factory images that Google is hosting online.

The new update brings with it the September security patch, as well as all the good and bad parts of the Android 10 release.

Those obviously include the system-wide dark theme as well as the new gesture-based navigation system that has polarized the Android community of late.

The new update is available for all Pixel devices ranging all the way back to the very first one. It will also presumably be the version of Android that ships on the upcoming and as-yet unannounced Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL phones. They’re both expected to be announced in the coming weeks, by the way.

Whether you’re looking forward to taking the new version of Android for a spin or not, the choice might not be down to you. While these updates are available for Pixel devices it will likely be some time before Android 10 is available for the likes of Samsung phones. Carrier testing and manufacturer’s love of adding bloatware will dictate that.

But if you’re the proud owner of a Pixel device, you can download the update right away. And don’t worry, those gestures aren’t anywhere near as bad as some people like to make out!

[Update: Android 10 has also started rolling out to the Essential Phone as well, so keep checking for an OTA update.]
