Microsoft Now Lets Users Run Internet Explorer On OS X, iOS, Android

Ben Reid·November 5, 2014
Microsoft's Internet Explorer may not be everyone's first choice when it comes to picking a browser, but despite having conceded quite a bit of its market share to Chrome and Firefox in its time, the software maker has made some significant improvements of late both in terms of functionality and reach. Given that IE is only available on the software maker's own platforms, though, it's somewhat limited to a particular audience, and so in order to rectify this situation, Microsoft has launched a new system that allows users to test the most recent edition of its Web-surfing app through the likes of OS X and iOS as well as Google's Android.

Now, a new build has just hit the download channels, and whether you're already on board with the Tech. Preview or simply intrigued by what Microsoft has been doing, we've got the ins and outs right after the fold.

Skype just received a fresh new design and a UI overhaul for Windows and Mac, with much emphasis placed on the IM functionality. According to Skype, a large number of users have been found to be sending IMs during a video chat, and I can definitely include myself in that list. If you’ve been using Skype on mobile, the change might not be a shocker to you as you pick up the design cues that were originally used for the mobile versions of Skype.
