Last Summer, Electronic Arts announced Battlefield 4, and with the special event for the title having just been held, the company has released an incredible 17 minutes of in-game footage. It features plenty of combat, a preview of some of the weaponry, and stunning visuals offering a timely reminder of why gaming fans are looking forward to the next installment of the legendary first-person shooter franchise. The title is set to release this fall for PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, and running on the Frostbite 3 engine, will evidently deliver a cutting-edge gaming experience. Microsoft's Kinect peripheral has only been on the market a couple of years, but its phenomenal sales in that short space of time is testament to how much we love that kind of interaction with our consoles. Officially set to be released next year, we can't help but get excited every time we hear little snippets of information regarding Grand Theft Auto V. The highly anticipated release in the GTA franchise has been under development for quite some time, but apart from the few teasing screenshots, promotional images released by Rockstar Games, we haven't really had a great deal to get our teeth into. GTA IV left a few hardcore fans feeling a little let down with the experience, but it certainly looks like Rockstar are back on top of their game with the latest offering.
The world of eSports is continually growing, with Starcraft possibly the biggest of the lot. Activision has always wanted the Call of Duty games to be part of the eSports movement, but with its proliferation of run and gun gamers, the gameplay and level of competition has always just fallen short. With Call of Duty: Black Ops II however, Activision is hoping to change all that.
