PwnageTool Bundle for iOS 4.2 Beta on iPhone 3GS (old bootrom) has been released. You can use this bundle to jailbreak your iPhone 3GS on iOS 4.2 while preserving your older baseband so that you can unlock it “later” (more on this below) using Ultrasn0w. The best thing about this bundle is that it supports hacktivation, but unfortunately, Cydia is currently not compatible with iOS 4.2. You will have to use SSH (OpenSSH) to copy or install any files manually on your iPhone.
iOS 4.2 was released earlier today. Just like iOS 4.1 and iOS 4.0.2, the new iOS 4.2 at the moment is not jailbreakable. It also contains new baseband for all iOS devices which currently makes it impossible to unlock using existing version of Ultrasn0w. So if you rely on a jailbreak and unlock, stay away from this new firmware until new jailbreak and unlock tools are available for download.
In a few hours from now, Microsoft will officially unveil Internet Explorer 9 Beta to the world. Folks at Fast Company have already got their hands on Microsoft’s latest attempt to reinvent the browser. If the screenshots posted below are anything to go by, boy or boy this looks awesome!
Just two days ago, we posted that GreenPois0n (the same tool which was initially planned for iPhone 3.1.3 and iPad 3.2 jailbreak) would be jailbreaking iOS 4.1 using the newly found SHAtter exploit.
Catchy headline, no?
While you won’t be ever able to run a full-blown modern desktop OS like Windows or Linux on your iOS gadget anytime soon, but with virtual-machining software Parallels Desktop for Mac, you can now access your Windows 7 or Linux-based virtual machines from your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad!
*puts a loaded gun to your head* You’ve got one choice! Hand me over your iPod or your wedding ring! What would you choose?
We informed you earlier that there is soon going to be a way to enable iOS 4.1 HDR (High Dynamic Range) Photography feature on your jailbroken iPhone 3G and 3GS. While the Cydia tweak still isn't out yet, you can follow the steps posted below to enable this feature as long as you have managed to jailbreak your iPhone 3GS or 3G on iOS 4.1.
We previously posted an entire guide on how to Jailbreak the PlayStation 3 with an Android Phone and also that iPhone Dev-Team member MuscleNerd confirmed that the hack would soon be coming to iPhones. Well guess what, it’s here folks! The PSGroove / PSFreedom has been ported over to jailbroken iPhones but the interesting thing is that it is not by the same team which MuscleNerd talked about. It’s actually by a hacker who goes by the name of NTAuthority! and he has used OpeniBoot method which was previously used to port Android on iPhone 2G, 3G and iPod touch.
While this is no complete port (like Android was to iPhone), it is still apparently newsworthy. iSpazio picked this video up which shows a near-perfect iOS clone running on the HTC T-Mobile myTouch 3G (horrible name, btw).
This is probably the most epic event we’ve seen so far by Microsoft ! To celebrate the RTM (Release to Manufacturing) milestone of Windows Phone 7, Microsoft today arranged a special event to mark the funeral of both Apple’s iPhone and RIM’s BlackBerry. The event took place outside Microsoft’s Redmond campus last week, with employees dressed up in weird dresses, with the hearses of iPhone and BlackBerry.
