We have already seen iPad installed in the cars, being used in restaurants as menu cards, and how some airlines are thinking about adopting it as an inflight entertainment system for its passengers in the skies. But how about a popular movie director using iPad to direct his upcoming movie? Sounds cool isn’t it?
Apple has released the long awaited iOS 3.2.1 for iPad to fix the WiFi issue which has been problematic for some iPad WiFi and iPad 3G users since its launch. Note, if you love your jailbroken iPad, avoid iPad 3.2.1 firmware as it patches the exploit used by Spirit jailbreak tool.
Last week, we informed you about Flash port for iPad which was in works by comex – the developer behind Spirit jailbreak tool for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and the upcoming jailbreak for iPhone 4. Well guess what, an early alpha version of Flash (which is dubbed as “Frash”) has been leaked and is now available for download. But there is a little catch to it. Since this is an early leaked version, not everything works. In fact Flash based videos wont play at all. You can play some Flash games on Miniclip.com, Newgrounds.com and the likes that’s it.
After porting preliminary release of Flash to iPhone, the guy behind Spirit untethered jailbreak tool for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch has now managed to run “real” Flash content right on the jailbroken Apple iPad. Dubbed as “Frash”, this is basically a port of Adobe Flash runtime for Android running on iPad using a compatibility layer. You can check out the video after the break to see it for yourself. It looks really promising, specially because its coming from non other than well known iPhone hacker named comex.
The best and the most easiest jailbreak tool has just been updated (unofficially?) to bring support for iTunes 9.2. Earlier when Apple released the final version of iTunes 9.2, it broke the compatibility with Spirit and so this new version brings the required fix to make it compatible with iTunes 9.2. However no new feature has been added. It still does not work with iOS 4 and iPhone 4. Only iOS 3.1.3 and 3.1.2 for iPhone 3GS, 3G, 2G, iPod touch, and iOS 3.2 for iPad is supported.
iWork suite will probably come to iPhones (maybe an iPhone 4 only exclusive like iMovie?) officially sometime this year. But apparently, an iPhone dev/hacker has already managed to get iPad version of Pages up and running on the higher resolution screen of iPhone 4. According to him, he has managed to do this by hacking the info.plist file in iOS 4 and then resigning it.
It was indeed very sweet and thoughtful of Stefan Magdalinski, a guy from South Africa to come up with this great idea of wrapping an iPad in a chocolate bar, on the eve of his beloved wife's birthday. The guy in fact shot two birds with one stone. His wife is not only a chocolate lover, but also a great Apple fan too! And so he not only gave her that big 1.5 lbs chocolate bar which she loves to eat, but also Apple iPad all the way from London (iPad is not available in South Africa yet) which she always wanted.
The developers behind Infiniboard, Infinidock, ProSwitcher and the UI designer of Spirit untethered jailbreak tool for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch has just released the alpha version of ProSwitcher app for iPad. ProSwitcher for iPad enables switching between applications (multitasking) running in background in a beautiful Palm Pre style card view mode. It basically act as a graphical extension to the already popular app from Cydia called Backgrounder to present all opened apps in a tabbed view, similar to the view seen on Mobile Safari browser.
So we now have the confirmation. In case you were wondering, iPhone 4 apps will run nearly in full screen on the iPad as opposed to the current iPhone apps which looks horrid at best on the large screen of iPad. This confirmation comes from the developers of “Make Coffee” app for iPhone who found out when they tried the new version of the app (optimized for higher resolution screen of iPhone 4) on the iPad.
By now, you might have come across many different iPad and iPhone mods but none of them can come close to this one! Kazu Terasaki has designed a pair of robotic legs for his iPad and iPhone that enables the two said devices to do some walking! amazing isn't it? Check out the video after the break to see it for yourself.
