Twitter for iPhone has just been updated to bring full support for iOS 4 and iPhone 4. Yes, this new version also supports multitasking (or app switching) which is kind of a new killer feature of the newly released OS. Full official change log is as follows.
The official release of PwnageTool 4.0 for creating custom ipsw files for iOS 4.0 is now LIVE! The infamous iPhone Dev-Team has updated their PwnageTool for Mac to make it compatible with the newly released iOS 4 for iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2G (non-MC model only). The custom .ipsw firmware files created with PwnageTool can update iPhone to iOS 4 without updating its baseband. iPod touch 2G MC model and iPod touch 3G is currently not supported.
Apparently, there is an unofficial version of PwnageTool out in the wild which can jailbreak iPhone 3GS (with old bootrom and already pwned on 3.1.2) on the latest iOS 4 firmware. The creators of the original PwnageTool has confirmed that this version has been modified and redistributed without their permission, and most importantly, it doesn’t patches some important files which are required for the ultrasn0w unlock to work properly.
The iPhone hacker behind sn0wbreeze, f0recast and BlackBreeze today has shared new screenshots of the upcoming Sn0wbreeze V1.6 for iOS 4.0 which promises to jailbreak iPhone 3GS (old bootrom), iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2G on the newly released iOS 4. While there is no ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival) on the release yet, but there is no reason why it shouldn’t be soon as the new unlock and jailbreak for iOS 4 is now out in public already.
The infamous iPhone hacker George Hotz (aka Geohot) is in France these days, taking part in Nuit Du Hack conference which is currently being held in Paris. During his presentation at the conference, he mentioned that he has found a new bootrom exploit, which can ultimately pwn all iPhones for life, including the yet to be released iPhone 4. He has named this exploit as “pwned4life”.
Apple today has released iOS 4 for iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G, iPod touch 3G and iPod touch 2G to public as a free download via iTunes. This is the same build 8A293 which was released as GM candidate on June 7th. The iPhone Dev Team has just released a near final version of Redsn0w 0.9.5 for both Windows and Mac. This beta release, like all the previous ones is meant for iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2G only, running iOS 4 (formerly iPhone OS 4). Apart from multitasking and wallpapers support on iOS 4.0 on iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2G, this version also brings support to enable battery percentage which otherwise is disabled by Apple.
