Ben Reid·November 3, 2012

Performance Comparison: iPad 4 vs iPad 3 [VIDEO]

Ben Reid·November 3, 2012
The iPad 3 has had the shortest shelf life of any Apple tablet in existence. Having arrived only in March in a blaze of glory, it's quickly been replaced by the fourth-generation iPad, and although the aesthetic changes are negligible (the Lightning cable has replaced the 30-pin job), internally, the newer of the two is said to be "twice as fast."

iPad mini Vs Nexus 7 – The Inevitable Drop Test [VIDEO]

Ben Reid·November 2, 2012
Any new device worth talking about is, as a matter of protocol, subject to numerous public tests, with the drop test being by far the most popular. As well as enjoying the perverse pleasure that is watching a brand-new device sustain serious damage, viewing such a test does have its practical benefits, since if a gadget performs particularly poorly, perhaps we'll think twice before parting with our cash.

Ben Reid·November 2, 2012
The packaging of any new tech product is not nearly as important as its contents, but in the spirit of the launch, there's usually a fleeting interest in the design of the box. Intel Said To Be Working On 48-Core Processors For Future Mobile Devices

Ben Reid·November 1, 2012
Nokia only recently claimed single -ore processors were all that was needed to power today's smartphones, though thanks to market pressure, compromised in bringing a dual-core chip to the Lumia 920. Look at the entire smartphone and tablet market, and you'll notice each vendor is following a similar motif in adding more cores as a form of natural progression. However, if you thought the Galaxy S III was a bit of a powerhouse with its quad-core Exynos processor, wait until you get a load of what Intel is cooking up.

Ben Reid·November 1, 2012
Yesterday, we showed you how you could implement a feature somewhere representative of Android Jelly Bean (4.2)'s gesture-based keyboard, provided you were running a device on Ice Cream Sandwich or newer. As exciting as that was, it was only a going to be a matter of time before more of the new firmware's key features and exclusives were ported through to those wielding older devices, and just a day later, here we are with the Android 4.2 camera and gallery, both of which have been successfully ported to a Galaxy Nexus running Jelly Bean 4.1.1.
