New iPhone 13 Camera Details Rumored: 64MP Anamorphic Lens, 3x – 5x Telephoto Lens, More

Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro in the final quarter of this year but we might now have been treated to some details about the camera array that will go into the 2021 iPhones as well.

The iPhone 12 Pro is expected to have as many as three cameras and a new LiDAR Scanner like the one that’s used on the new iPad Pro and things look set to improve further next year, too.

According to leaker Fudge, @choco_bit on Twitter, we can expect four cameras and the LiDAR Scanner to be used next year.

•Wide 1x optical zoom (6x digital zoom) 64mp
•Telephoto 3x-5x optical zoom (15-20x digital zoom) 40mp
•64mp anamorphic lens (2.1:1)
•0.25x min ultra wide (optical reverse zoom) 40mp
•Li-Dar 4.0

However, it’s important to note that the same leaker notes that we should take this with a “Huuuuugggeeeee” pinch of salt. With that in mind it’s clear they aren’t confident in the information at this point. That might change in the future, however.

While this leak is claimed to pertain to the iPhone 13, it’s more likely to actually be the iPhone 13 Pro given the power offered by this camera setup. If this is indeed the lower end iPhone we’ll get next year, what would Apple offer to differentiate the iPhone 13 Pro?

At that point, it’d probably need to come with a professional photographer to take the shots for you!
