Apple Will Reportedly Launch A New Low-Cost iPad In Late 2024

Apple hasn’t announced any new iPads throughout the entire of 2023 and it now seems increasingly unlikely that it will happen before the year comes to an end any time soon.

But a new report claims that Apple is getting ready to change that in 2024 with a new entry-level iPad expected to debut.

Previous reports have already suggested that Apple will announce a new iPad Pro while a new iPad Air is expected to be joined by a new, larger model with a 13-inch display. But this new report by Nikkei Asia, claims that Apple is ready to announce a new entry-level iPad. Set to be the 11th-gen model, this new iPad will replace the 10th-gen model, but little is known about what it will have to offer.

According to this report, China’s BYD is the company that has been signed up to produce the new iPads.

Apple is working with China’s BYD, a key iPad assembler, to move new product introduction (NPI) resources to Vietnam. NPI involves a tech company like Apple collaborating with suppliers on the design and development of new products to make sure the blueprints are doable. This is the first time Apple has shifted NPI resources to Vietnam for such a core device.

The current iPad comes with a large 10.9-inch display, an Apple A14 Bionic chip, and a USB-C port and we can expect that Apple will announce the new model with a faster chip, but what else it will have to offer remains to be seen.
