Apple today took the wraps off its 2020 Back to School promotion, a promotion that rums every year as people get ready for the next school year. Apple tends to offer gift cards with each purchase, and this time around those in the United States will get a free pair of AirPods with Mac or iPad purchases.

If you’d rather pick up a pair of AirPods Pro instead, you can. The price will be reduced to just $90 which is a great deal indeed. Apple is essentially taking the cost of standard AirPods off the normal $249 asking price.

As ever, Apple has some fine print to go with the new promotion.

Qualified Purchasers can receive Promotion Savings when they purchase an eligible Mac or eligible iPad with AirPods at a Qualifying Location. Only one Promotion Product per eligible Mac or eligible iPad per Qualified Purchaser. Offer subject to availability. While supplies last. Subject to terms and conditions herein.

Customers who are eligible can also save 20% on the price of AppleCare+, a saving that might be worth every penny if you or your kid is one who often breaks their stuff!

This offer is only available in the United States via the online and in-store Apple Stores. But we’d expect similar deals to be popping up internationally as well.
