“The future of health is on your wrist”, Apple tells us, as it wraps up its latest TV commercial ad for the Apple Watch Series 6. The ad in particular focuses on the ECG functionality and how it’s a game changer.

The 30 second ad was aired on NFL on Fox, and serves as a quick reminder of the convenience offered by the ECG monitoring function on the Series 6 wearable.

Being part of the “The future of health is on your wrist” promotion campaign for the Apple Watch, it is estimated that Apple spent $4.7 million to air the ad on TV screens, but is believed that it will soon find its way to the web, in particular; YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter.

The Apple Watch has had a history of cases where it has proven to be a life-saver. It has helped in detecting arrhythmia, often in cases where it was least expected, or in cases where the fall-detection feature helped save lives.

The ECG feature has been around since the Series 4 on the Apple Watch, but in the current lineup, only the Series 6 comes packing this feature, and cannot be found on the Apple Watch SE or Series 3. Series 6 also houses another exclusive feature; that is the Blood O2 monitor, which given the current COVID-19 pandemic, is a critical feature to have on your wrist.
