Alpine Announces An iPad Pro-Sized 11-Inch CarPlay Receiver And A 9-Inch Weatherproof CarPlay Unit For Jeep

Alpine has announced two new CarPlay receivers, one of which is an 11-inch monster and the other is weather-resistant. Who said in-car entertainment was boring?

The first of these is the iLX-F411 which is an 11-inch CarPlay-equipped screen that is larger than most tablets. It has support for USB, AUX, and HDMI as well as an input for rear camera kits.

Through extensive industry research, the iLX-F411 includes all the features needed to command an exciting drive and is an ideal upgrade for the active weekender or everyday commuter. The increased screen size allows for safe navigation and easy control of music, text messages and phone calls through Apple CarPlay® or Android Auto™.

You can get the full rundown of the unit’s specifications and features on Alpine’s website, where you can also buy it for a cool $1,200.

If you need something a little smaller and more weather-resistant, you’ll want to check out the X409-WRA-JL. It’s specifically designed for the 2018 or later Jeep Wrangler as well as the 2020 Jeep Gladiator and will cost drivers $3,500 from Alpine.

“We designed a demo vehicle to reflect the exclusive systems that Alpine developed for Jeep® with a nod to our design identity heritage,” said Mike Anderson, Vice President and General Manager, Brand Business Unit, Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. “Jeepers are unique in that they often have a bit of the outdoors in the interior of their vehicles. We wanted to offer a system that provides unending entertainment – in any weather condition.”

We never thought we’d see the day when car entertainment systems had IP ratings, but there we are. This one has an IP53 rating, in case you were wondering.
